Bond is back! Daniel Craig is set to steam up screens again as 007 in new 23rd film
Good news for James Bond fans - hunky Daniel Craig is set to return as the secret agent in a brand new movie.
After being shelved for nine months due to MGM's money problems, the 23rd Bond film has finally got the go-ahead, with Craig in the 007 role once again.
Sam Mendes will direct the film which is set to begin production at the end of this year.
Details of the plot are of course top secret for now, but it's rumoured that Judi Dench will also be returning as 'M'.
"I think I'm going to be needed in spring of 2011," she told MTV News in 2009. "That's a message I got."
Michael Sheen has been rumoured to be playing the villainous role name has been tossed in the mix for the role of Blofeld.
It's still uncertain which lucky actress will get to play the Bond Girl opposite Craig.
In recent years Halle Berry, Teri Hatcher and Denise Richards have all played the coveted female role with 007.
Bond Producer Barbara Broccoli has seen actor Simon Russell Beale twice in his current West End play Deathtrap. Also, Beale is playing King Lear for Sam Mendes in a National Theatre production in 2012.
Beale said recently that he'd already dropped a hint to Mendes that "every actor wants to be in Bond [and] I'd love to be a baddie."
Craig recently hit headlines due to a rumoured romance with actress Rachel Weisz, who recently divorced Director Darren Aronofsky, father of her 4 year-old son, Henry.
A return to the Bond role also means it's back to the gym.
In the previous films the actor was rumoured to have spent five days a week at the gym working on his Bond-worthy physique.
Although Craig's performance in previous Bond films was well-received, it hasn't all been smooth sailing.
During production of the most recent film, Quantum of Solace, Craig sliced off the tops of his fingers in an accident, while another mishap left a stunt driver in critical condition.
The as-yet untitled film will be released worldwide on November 9, 2012.
